Visiting the Orphanage with a group can be an amazing experience. We have heard so many stories of people’s lives who have been changed by their time at El Sauzal. Read some of Your Stories, and add your own!
If you are interested in visiting the Orphanage, let us know. You can check Our Calendar to see what’s up. Then when you know when you want to come, email Roy Ketring to let us know. When you are ready to come, see our Map and Directions. Over the years, friends of the Orphanage have brought hundreds of people to visit – youth, singles, parents and their children, and retired people. Everyone has something to offer. We have included some resources here that have helped us out. We are not experts, but have learned through a lot of trial and error.
If you have some questions not addressed here, email Clay Warren or Chuck Keortge; both men have a lot of experience leading groups to the Orphanage. Thinking about bringing teenagers?
If you are considering bringing teenagers or other minors, consider some of the following ideas:
•Having a release form for minors without a parent.
•Crossing the border - check out the latest information .
•Proof of citizenship - make sure you know what is needed to get back into the United States.
•Cultural expectations - Boy-girl relationships are viewed differently in Mexico then in the United States.
•"Mexiflex" - It helps to have an attitude of flexibility when dealing with different cultures.
