John Nitta Memorial Dental Clinic The John Nitta Memorial Dental Clinic is located next to the Orphanage office. Over the years, dentists, hygienists, and other professionals have given their time to help with the health of the community. (See more pictures at our Photo page, by clicking on Our Dental Clinic.) Many of our children arrive with severe dental issues. Often our kids come from homes where their parents could not afford dental care. In our Spring 2014 newsletter, you can read the story of young Melissa, and how she desperately needed dental help. Local dentist Elizabeth Kachirsky has been working in the orphanage's clinic for a few years. Her vision is to continue offering dental services to the children, as well as kids in other local orphanages. You can read more about Elizabeth in the Spring 2014 newsletter. Clinic Vision
Our vision for the Dental Clinic has always been to serve our Orphanage, the other orphanage in the community and the people of our town. Many dental professionals from California and Montana have volunteered. In 2004, the Christian Medical & Dental Associations, visited with many volunteers. Click here to read their article. They brought medical and dental students from USC, UCLA and Western University.
Clinic Story
The John Nitta Memorial Dental Clinic was started before 1990 by Dr. John Nitta and his family. The Arnold California Rotary and the Nitta family donated two dental chairs, an x-ray machine, and air and vacuum equipment.
Dr. Nitta and his staff visited the Orphanage whenever they could, providing dental services for our children. After Dr. Nitta moved to Fresno, California, a group of dentists from Pleasanton, California donated their service annually. When Dr. Nitta passed away unexpectedly in 2000, we named the clinic in honor of him.
