Give Where You Want |

Sofia wants to study forensic science after she finished high school.
The nannies, like Betty, all work very hard. You can help give them a break. |
Give Where You Want
|
There are many ways that you can help improve the lives of our kids.
|
|
Do you have a desire to give to a specific need or area of the Orphanage? Just let us know your wish, and we will set aside your money for that purpose.
Sometimes, money is very tight; having money for milk but not for gas would be difficult. If you designate and we really need your money somewhere else, we will contact you. And if there is no current need in your specific choice, we will let you know. Contact Roger Christianson to designate your gift.
Some Areas to Give To….
Here are some things the Orphanage struggles with. We have included the cost of the item. If you want to help with one of these, contact Roger Christianson.
Sponsor a child.
It costs approximately $300 per child per month to operate our home for children. You can help by offering to fully or partially sponsor a child.
Fresh milk and dairy.
A local Mexican dairy, Leche Azucena, will deliver to the Orphanage at a 10% discount. Fresh milk, eggs and cheese are expensive, and are frequently not in the children’s diet. About 80 gallons of milk, a month, would cost around $200 per month.
Give a nanny a vacation.
Our dedicated nannies work 24 hours a day, with one day off each week. They get two – three weeks off each year for vacation, but are frequently too broke to go anywhere. You can fund a vacation for a nanny for $300… what a great opportunity to refresh and reenergize our loyal, hard-working staff.
Medicine for the kids.
For $100 a month, you can help purchase medicine, and keep the tab at the local pharmacy from getting too high.
Back to school items.
Every August, the Orphanage scrambles to get enough money to prepare the children for school. Things like backpacks, crayons, scissors, pencils, and notepads are often donated. But school uniforms, which every child must have, must be bought or made, at a large expense. A typical school uniform costs about $225.
Higher learning.
There are currently several teens in high school, one teenager in technical school (studying refrigeration engineering) and no teenagers in college. Mexican high schools require tuition, as well as colleges and technical schools. Our education fund is always tapped out.
Phone bill.
Our phone bill is a steep $540 per month. This includes local calls, international calls, cell phones and dial-up internet service. Frequently, phones are turned off due to the inability to pay the phone bill. Can you help the Orphanage stay connected? Communication is critical.
