As a large home, we need what all big families need. Below is a basic list of items that are either necessities or things that would make life easier. For the most current list of needs, please email info@elsauzal.org. If you want to mail items: It is possible to mail some items to Mexico, although we discourage mailing cash donations. Please note that it is illegal to mail used clothing/used items to Mexico. (See below.) El Sauzal Orphanage
Calle Benito Juarez #476
San Antonio de las Minas
B.C., Mexico 22766
If you want to bring items: The Mexican Government changed their border crossing regulations, and are inspecting almost every vehicle that enters the country. They are also no longer allowing vehicles to enter Mexico loaded down with goods, or you will need to pay importation taxes on what you bring in. They will force loaded vehicles back into the United States. It does not matter if the goods are going to help Mexican children at an Orphanage. It is illegal to bring used clothing and other used items into Mexico. There is a strong used items market in Mexico and these laws are to protect that sector. Many people are opting to purchase in Mexico at discount stores. There are Walmart and Costco stores in the Tijuana and Ensenada area, as well as dollar stores. Another option is to send a donation to the El Sauzal Foundation, Inc. and designate it for the things that you would purchase for the Orphanage. (Please note: If you would like a tax deduction, give through the Foundation.) See Give How You Want. If you have other questions about helping with these items, please contact office@elsauzal.org or Roy Ketring. Miscellaneous Items
